Major Oscar Francis Perdomo (July 14, 1919–March 2, 1976), a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, was a United States Air Force officer who was the last “ace in a day” for the United States in World War II. ==Early years== Perdomo, a Mexican American, was one of five siblings born in El Paso, Texas to Mexican immigrants. His father served in the Mexican Revolution under the command of Francisco "Pancho" Villa before emigrating to the United States.
